Call for Art- Participate in the 2019 Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Exhibition

Participate in the Hi-Desert Nature Museum’s

ON DISPLAY March 14 through May 18, 2019

OPENING RECEPTION Saturday, March 16th, 5:00-7:00 PM

In today’s era of heightened environmental awareness, artists are increasingly turning to junk stores, trash bins, and surplus outlets to satisfy their urge to create while still caring for the planet.  The 2019 exhibition, themed “Think: Reconstruction,” is meant to make people rethink our throw-away society by sharing the local community’s innovation and often surprising use of reused and recycled materials. Individual and group projects are welcome and children are particularly encouraged to participate.

Community members are invited to contribute original works of art inspired by and made from recycled or reused materials for display in the museum’s annual exhibition, “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle,” which will be specially featured during the Town of Yucca Valley’s Earth Day Celebration on April 20, 2019. Paintings, sculptures, photographs, mixed media and upcycled creations are welcomed. Child, school and club submissions are especially encouraged!

Artwork must be submitted in person at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum March 6th through March 9th, between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Click here for participation guidelines: 2019RRR Rules Final.
