Please join us at a reception for Wondrous West: Art, Tourism, and National Pride! The event will feature a Zoom presentation from curator and historian Lee Silliman, who has compiled nearly a century of images that illustrate the romance of western tourism. His illustrated presentation explores the vast and dramatic landscapes of the Rocky Mountain West through vintage travel books, railroad brochures, souvenir albums, illustrated newspapers, and more that encouraged Americans to “See America First.”
Reception begins at 5:00 p.m. with light refreshments. The Zoom presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the HDNM’s Natural History Room.
This event is free to the public, and donations are graciously accepted.
