The term, metamorphosis, is used to describe a change of the form or nature of a thing or person into a completely different one, by natural or supernatural means. The Hi-Desert Nature Museum’s annual Reduce, Reuse, Recycle exhibit may have a new name in 2023, but the fundamental message of the exhibition remains the same. Metamorphosis: A Recycled Art Exhibition, a community-curated art exhibition, is designed to make people rethink our throw-away society by sharing innovative and often surprising use of recycled and reused materials. The Museum will continue to provide the community with an outlet to demonstrate its commitment to change for environmental well-being in the Morongo Basin.
Metamorphosis: A Recycled Art Exhibition will be on display March 17 through May 27, 2023. The Museum will host an opening reception for participating artists, their friends and family on March 25, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., where “Best In Show” awards for an adult and youth piece will be given.
